  • Supported over 200 county government employees in their career development by implementing a counseling program involving skill development, networking and career planning.  In addition to enhancing employee satisfaction and morale during compensation and performance program changes, rescued over $10,000 in outplacement costs and prevented discrimination litigation.
  • Developed Members in Transition Program to assist professional career transitions that became recognized throughout the state of Florida.
  • Enhanced PHR/SPHR course increasing pass rates of students from 40% to 80%.

CIRCOR International, Tampa, FL                                             2010-Current

The CIRCOR Flow Technologies Group is a group of businesses that that manufacture control values, regulators and other devices used in applications ranging from high temperature steam regulation in municipal and institutional HVAC systems to specialized fluid control systems for marine vessels and fueling stations for CNG-powered vehicles. CFT is part of CIRCOR International and has annual global sales of over $250MM.

Human Resources Business Partner

CIRCOR Flow Technologies Group, 2011

Promoted to this specialty created position responsible for supporting site HR professionals and hiring leaders in identifying and placing employment candidates for CFT locations internationally within U.S., China, UK, Netherlands, Germany, and India subsidiaries.  Ensures high-level delivery and counsel in delivering high quality candidates for Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Sales, Executive and other key positions.  Acts as primary HR representative for the Controls Technology Group and responsible for human capital management, performance management, and strategic human resources management for this new organizational start up.

Recruited global leadership team and established HR processes and systems for CIRCOR group dedicated to serving Power Generation Controls Market internationally.

 

HR Generalist, CIRCOR/Leslie Controls, 2010-2011

Leslie Controls, a $50MM CFT business, manufacturers rugged and dependable devices used in power generation, industrial/commercial and marine applications including the U.S. Navy. 

Position responsible for Recruitment, Employee Relations, and Organizational Development/Training in conduction with leadership to support organizational and divisional goals.  Developed ”Leadership 101” Program which included 30+ leadership development sessions for fifty site leaders over the course of one year.   Facilitated two top grading recruitment projects at the senior leadership level encompassing multiple key positions and engineering vacancies.  

 

HARMAR MOBILITY, Sarasota, FL                                                            2009-2010

A 20MM dollar manufacturer of scooter & wheelchair lifts, motorized carriers, and other ambulatory products encompassing 103 employees in Florida and Missouri.

Human Resources Manager - Position responsible for Employee Relations, Benefits, Time and Attendance, Compensation, Training, Organizational Development, and Environmental Health and Safety.  Provided services related to employee relations, recruitment, employee benefits, compensation, training, and organizational development.  In conjunction with manufacturing leadership, assisted in complete overhaul of company safety program avoiding $60,000.00 in OSHA related fines.

 

PGT Industries, Venice, FL                                                                           2006-2009

 A 300MM dollar, publicly-traded, multi-facility, manufacturer of windows and doors, encompassing 1400 employees.

Human Resources Manager/Employment Manager - Reporting to the President/CEO, absorbed previous HR Vice-President and HR Director roles into one position responsible for Human Resources, Workforce Development, and Environmental Health and Safety for both Florida and North Carolina locations. Led twelve professional member department in areas employee relations, recruitment, employee benefits, compensation, training, organizational development, environmental and occupational safety, wellness, morale programs which includes an onsite dining facility and company store.  Provided HR Generalist services to client groups in the areas of employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and strategic staffing.  Acted as principal HR leader for corporate acquisition (M&A) activities.  Facilitated union avoidance activities.  Led team in the creation of a new gain sharing program that rewarded employees based upon quality, efficiencies, and reduced waste.  Led three enterprise-wide workforce restructuring resulting in 18MM in cost reductions.  Refined healthcare insurance program and introduced furlough program resulting in 2.5MM in cost reductions.  Reduced recruitment expenses by $800,000.00 and four headcount in two years by overhauling recruitment processes and advertisement strategy while increasing quality of hire.  Acted as primary Technical Recruiter for Information Technology and Engineering positions.

HR Consultant & Executive Recruiter Oversee P&L for this executive search and HR consulting firm.  Serve as principal consultant in the areas of recruitment, compensation, employee relations, benefits, leadership development, talent management and training.  Accountable for ensuring quality of service while enhancing client programs, policies and services.  Provided contract and contingency search services in the Information Technology, Engineering to include Civil, Biomedical, and Manufacturing as well as Government Sectors.

 

SARASOTA COUNTY GOVERNMENT, Sarasota, FL                               2000 to 2005

A local county government entity, encompassing 3200 employees and $1B budget.

General Manager, Human Resources, 2004-2005

Promoted to this specially created position to direct the HR function, leading 17 HR professionals and 3 support staff in the administration of Employee/Labor Relations, Compensation, HR Technology, Benefits/Wellness, Employment and Talent Management.  Instituted health care cost containment measures that maintained expenses below the national average and saved $200,000 in rate increases.  Developed a predictive recruiting modeling process for the county using the Leadership Architect system, a high potential leadership development program.  Use of the new modeling permitted the county to gain a 35% increase in new hire quality.  Developed cooperative relationships with county’s three labor unions.

 

Manager, Talent Acquisition & Management, 2001-2005

Accountable for establishing the Talent Acquisition Core Service Area within the HR function.  Developed and managed the county’s first web-based applicant tracking system, eliminating the use of third-party recruiting firms and saving $110,000 in the first year alone.  Acted as county’s Executive and Technical Recruiter and conducted searches for all Senior Leadership, IT, Scientific, and Engineering positions.

A $1.2B employee management solutions provider (formerly Staff Leasing, Inc. & Gevity).

Employment Manager / Executive Recruiter / Senior Technical Recruiter – Led nonexempt recruiting, testing and selection processes for the company’s 120-member customer support center while concurrently conducting executive, professional and technical recruiting for approximately 125 positions a year.  Developed and managed corporate recruiting budgets, strategy and technology that resulted in a 40% decrease in advertisement costs and a 30% reduction in staffing fees.
